Annual fire extinguisher maintenance is a vital part of your fire safety cover, required by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Officer 2005). It is essential your extinguishers are serviced annually by a competent person to ensure their viability in an emergency.

A visit from our qualified Engineer will ensure that your equipment is maintained to BS5306 standards and provide you with a fire certificate for your premises.

We aim to keep your safety our promise, without the stress and expense of a commission-based Engineer and only carry out works required under your permissions and recommendations.

You will receive clear and honest advice from our Engineer who will always keep you informed on the latest requirements from a legal and legislation point of view.

We also design, install and service fire alarms – contact us to find out more.

TRAINING

To ensure your staff are fully prepared for an emergency, we offer comprehensive on-site training in fire extinguisher use and safety awareness.

Our training sessions last approximately 1 hour. Staff get hands-on experience and confidence in using a fire extinguisher in an emergency situation. This gives them vital experience, most importantly getting them used to the weight, noise and action of a fire extinguisher. They also learn how to identify the different types of fire extinguisher and the different classes of fires, to ensure the right device is used at the right time. The correct procedure when discovering a fire is also taught.

The session ends with a Question & Answer opportunity for everyone to cover any areas they may have found confusing.

Finally, a certificate is issued upon completion for your company records.

FIRE SAFETY LEGISLATION

Due to many other internet companies selling extinguishers online using inexperienced advisors (our advisors have been on a BRITISH FIRE CONSORTIUM Training Course and are qualified to give the best advice) and providing extinguishers without service labels. PLUS a lot of extinguishers get damaged in transit due to rough handling by couriers. All insurance companies have now decreed that a qualified engineer must visit the premises and inspect each extinguisher.

The engineer must sign and date the extinguishers, and weight and test each of them before being put into service. THIS IS FOR YOUR PROTECTION. All extinguisher labels must have provisions for a commissioning section, only to be signed by a engineer. Failure to conform to the British Standard will result in your extinguisher not being considered part of any insurance, thus rendering your insurance null and void for fire protection.

Check with your insurance company for confirmation.
